The history of the Lorenz family dates back to 1725. What began as a mixed farm grew into a specialized winery in Friesenheim, in the heart of Rheinhessen.

Today, the winery is run by Wendelin Lorenz and Johannes Lorenz. Together, they build on almost three centuries of family history, where tradition and innovation reinforce each other.

Consciously organic since 2003

In 2003, the family consciously chose to fully convert to organic viticulture. Not because it was a trend, but because they are convinced that healthy soils and strong vines form the basis for better wine.

Bioweingut Lorenz now works according to strict Bioland guidelines, and the wines are produced vegan.

A new perspective on the vineyard

What distinguishes Bioweingut Lorenz is their unique approach to the vineyard. For years, they have consciously deviated from traditional pruning methods.

The vines are given more natural freedom, which promotes biodiversity and, according to the family, develops more aroma and character in the grapes.
